CHIDIYATAPU AND MUNDA PAHAR BEACH
True to its name Chidiyatapu is the home to many migratory and native birds of the Andaman islands. This is a paradise for bird watchers. The Mundapahad beach is one of the finest beaches in Port Blair. Most tourists visit Chidiyatapu for sunset but there is more to this beautiful place.
The beach has a dense reserved forest adjacent to it. There is a biological park of the Andaman forest department and also a guest house.
How to reach?
From Port Blair, embark on a scenic drive along the Andaman Trunk Road towards the southern tip of South Andaman Island. The journey takes approximately 25 kilometers and offers breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea and lush landscapes along the way.
Timings
Chidiyatapu Beach:
The best time to experience the sunset at Chidiyatapu Beach is in the late afternoon, typically around 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, depending on the season. Arriving at the beach at least half an hour before sunset allows you to find a comfortable spot and soak in the mesmerizing views as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues.
Munda Pahad:
For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, it's generally recommended to start your trek to Munda Pahad in the early afternoon, preferably around 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.Starting your trek during this time allows you to take advantage of the relatively cooler temperatures compared to the peak midday heat. Additionally, it provides sufficient daylight hours to complete the trek comfortably and reach the summit of Munda Pahad before sunset.
