True To its name Chidiya tapu is the home to many migratory and native birds of Andaman islands. This is a paradise for bird watchers. The Mundapahad beach is one of the finest beaches in Port Blair. Most tourists visit Chidiya tapu for sunset but there is more to this beautiful place.


The beach has a dense reserved forest adjacent to it. There is a biological park of Andaman forest department and also a guest house.

Chidiyatapu is located 25 Kms away from Port Blair and can be travelled by road.




The best time to visit Chidiyatapu is in the afternoon so that the guests can witness the magical sunset in the vening.

The Munda pahad beach and the biological garden are the main attractions of Chidiyatapu.

Take a long walk on the beach and swim in the clear waters of the sea. It is advised to swim in front of the main beach to be in the watch of the life guards.
