20 - 25 Minutes boat ride from Havelock is Elephant beach, famous for underwater coral reefs and rich fish life. The beach is mostly visited by Indian tourists for adventure tour activities like Sea walk and Parasailing.
Havelock is situated around 42 km northeast of Port Blair. The island was named after British General Sir Henry Havelock. This island is the most sought-after tourist destination in Andaman. The administration has encouraged tourism on this island with the main focus on eco-tourism. The total population of around 8000 people is spread across six villages in Havelock.
